I'm getting back to the

School routine now...

The day after tomorrow officially is the first day back in school for me, and I couldn't be dreading it anymore.

I really hate those long summer breaks and then going back to that hellhole. At least this year is my last and next year I can, hopefully, look forward to going to University. At least there should be more going on this year than last year. We have 18th birthday parties coming up so it should all be fun.

I'm just dreading the exams. It all sucks really, I feel mentally exhausted from it all already!

Anyway, moving on.

Here's Chapter 29 of DYRM, finally. I have another story idea in brewing too, it's different from this one, I'll be starting to write this soon, because this story is drawing to a close...

“What? What’s wrong?” I asked, worried that I done something… magical whilst under the hypnosis.
“Didn’t you see anything? Under the hypnosis?” Inspector Malcolm asked, looking at me sceptically.
“Not really, I heard a lot of voices, but it was all black.”
“Something strange just happened here.” Mrs Connors interjected. “He should have been seeing what his body was experiencing?”
“Why? What was happening?” I asked, and then suddenly, my headache came back full force, almost like a force of energy slamming itself into my head. I groaned and clutched my head.
“Danny, what’s wrong?” It was Maggie
“My head.”
“Should he be like this?” I heard her shout in panic.
“No.” Mrs Connors replied.
“I’ll take a look at him.” Dr Jenkins said, I felt cold hands pry my hands from my face and then feel my forehead. “He’s burning up pretty bad. He needs to go home and get some rest.”
“Wait.” I grounded out. “What happened to me?”
“It’s fine, we can talk about it later.” Maggie said hurriedly. Then it hit me, the video camera.
“What about the video camera? Did that get everything?” I asked.
“I’m not sure. We can look at it some other time. You need to get home.” Mrs Connors said.
“I’m fine, will everyone please stop worrying? I just need to see that video.”
“Not now. Stop being stubborn.” Maggie ordered.
“Who’re you to order me around?” I growled.
Everyone stopped fussing at that.
“What?” Maggie asked, I looked up to her, to see her mouth gaping open like a fish.
“You know what I mean.” I told her, referencing to the night I ‘drugged myself up’.
“Oh, Danny.” She whispered, obviously catching on to the fact that I’d heard her. I could feel the stares of the people in the room on my back. This was not looking good. I looked down, sighed, and stood up.
“Aren’t we going?” I asked, defeat evident in my voice.
“I’ll see those videos in our next session, is that alright, Mrs Connors?” I asked, not turning back around to face her.
“It depends on how you’re doing.”
“Our next session is when?”
“This Friday.”
“It’s Tuesday, right?”
“Yeah,”
“Can you move it to a bit closer than that?” I asked.
“Why?”
“I’m not sure I’ll be around long enough.”
“Of course you will, but if you want. The next day I’m free for a session is tomorrow, one o’clock.”
“I’ll take it. If you don’t mind.”
“It’s fine.” I think she could sense something was wrong. I guess that’s what therapists are good for, right? I really need to stop asking myself so many questions.
I had a feeling. If I didn’t get to my friends soon, something bad was going to happen to them. I need to get to them quick.
Slowly, everyone packed everything up. I was ordered to sit down, and rest my head. It was throbbing away pleasantly in my head, just a small reminder of another thing I didn’t know why it was there.

We got through the front door of our house with a sigh. It had been an awkward car ride. I’d been forced to sit next to Dr Jenkins so he could keep an eye on me. Maggie was driving, Inspector Malcolm sitting next to her, and Mrs Connors to my other side.
No matter how I looked at it. I was strategically placed so everyone in the car could keep at least one eye on me.
As we kit out front driveway, everyone got out of the car and immediately said goodbye. They got no reply. Mrs Connors reminded me of our meeting tomorrow, I nodded, and continued to the front door.
Maggie instantly turned on the TV to some news report. I stayed behind to see what it was, since I was usually not allowed to even glimpse at the news.
“So, Gary, do you think the other two will ever make it back?” The news reporter asked. I froze. Of course, the first hint of news I see for days and it’s about my missing friends. Great luck I have.
“Well, considering Danny, both of them, came back against all odds, I wouldn’t put it past for the rest of them.”
“Don’t you think it’s a bit odd though, how those two came back, but not the others?”
“Well, yeah, there is speculation about that going around? What would be the point of letting the two of them go? I mean, we know Danny Smith can’t remember anything, but Danny Istari has been practically null and void since he came back. No one’s seen him besides a few sparring seconds in his fights. So he’s not answered any questions.”
“Do you think there’s a reason why Danny Istari hasn’t gone to save the others yet? You would have thought, with his track record of being the hero, that he wouldn’t have left the other two without a fight.”
“Yes, well, everyone’s wondering what’s going on in his mind at the moment. Lets just hope for now that he’s working on something.”
I hope so too, I answered him too.
“Danny Istari.” Maggie whispered next to me.
“What’s wrong with Danny Istari?” I asked.
“Oh, Danny. Didn’t know you were there.” She turned quickly to face me. “Danny Istari and this family, well, Jim and I, don’t have a very good history with him.”
“Why’s that?” I asked, truly curious as to why there was a supposed hatred between my parents and me.
“It’s nothing. He did something. We know he’s evil at heart, that eventually he’s going to become just as evil as the rest of his kind.” Should I sense a little fear there? Something is definitely up with that. I know I’m not evil, well, I don’t know me enough currently to know that, but anyway….
“I’m going to bed.” I announced as I climbed up the stairs. Maggie gave no acknowledgement as she continued the news report that had by now, changed to something about a lost cat.

As I reached my room, my head was pounding worse than ever. There was darkness starting to creep towards the edge of my vision and the world was shaking.
I managed to make it to my room, and to my bed. Unable to change into bedclothes, I just collapsed onto the bed, my head in a fiery rage.
“Why does this stuff always happen to me?” I moaned into the pillow as I struggled with the darkness to get into a better position on the bed.
Finding myself in a comfortable-ish position, I let unconsciousness take me over.
This unconsciousness was different to other ones I’d experienced, tallying it up to quite experienced by now… I could see visions of something floating by me. Snippets of conversation. Overwhelming feelings.

“That Danny.” Mrs Connors whispered worriedly as she paced around her room.
“Sandra.” Her husband called to her. “Come to bed. It’s late. I’m sure he’ll be okay.”
“Okay, Kenny.” Sandra Connors replied, getting under the bed sheet.
“So, what is it with you and this Danny? You cheating on me or something?” Kenny asked, making a joke of the worry his wife was feeling.
“No. Something’s going on with him and he’s not letting up.” Sandra replied, used to her husband’s jokes by now.
“Do I know this Danny?”
“Yes, he’s all over the TV. Danny Smith.”
“You’re his therapist?”
“Yes. His mother called me and asked me to talk to him. He was having trouble coping with everything.”
“Yeah, I think I would be too. So he really hasn’t got any memories? It’s not just a scam like I’ve heard?”
“No, what’s said is true. It’s quite sad. He’s not sure how to cope. He’s been thrown into this world where he’s supposed to know these people, but he doesn’t. He doesn’t want to disappoint people either.” She said. She knew she wasn’t supposed to talk about her clients this way, but she felt like she, herself, needed to talk to someone about this. “And then there was the drug overdose.”
“That wasn’t on the TV.”
“Yeah, so you need to keep it quiet.” Sandra warned. “Something happened that night he overdosed. I know it. I mean, from the talks I’ve had with Danny, which aren’t very much, but he’s got this wary personality. Even if he was taking drugs before, he wasn’t taking them seriously enough to overdose.
“It’s hard to explain. Something made him panic to the point where he just couldn’t deal with it anymore. And just overdosed.”
“So, you think he was taking drugs before hand?”
“Yeah, I know the types when I see them. I get loads of them coming into the office. Those struggling with their addictions.” She answered, looking down at the bed covers, “it would go unnoticed to someone who wasn’t used to seeing it, but I could see them. You know, sleepy appearance, bloodshot eyes. Someone else would have put it down to stress.”
“So why didn’t you?”
“The first time I saw him, I did. But the thought kept lingering back to me. Before he was found, he’d been rooming up with a drug dealer. Or so I’ve heard. He refuses to say, but the signs were pretty obvious. The people he was caught thieving with? Their known to work with one drug dealer in particular. John.”
“So, that’s what you think got him started on all this?”
“Yeah.”
“Sucks to be him.”
“I’m sure it does. But something else is nibbling away at me.”
“What’s that?”
“There’s more to him than what even I can see. There’s a secret that he’s got well hidden.”
“Well, this keeps getting better and better all the time.” Kenny whistled. “Kids got some serious shit hanging over his shoulders.”
“I may be overreacting. I’m just not sure what I should do with him anymore.”
“Just talk to him.” Kenny said. “Let him come to you. If he trusts you, he’ll tell you. But, from the sounds of it, you might have your work cut out for you. The kid probably has trust issues.”
“Yeah.”
“Now, come on. You can worry about him later, it’s time for bed.”

“I honestly don’t know why I’m doing this.” A man decked in black clothing grumbled. He’d been ordered to watch over this therapist. A therapist of all people! What the hell did she have to do anything?
Yes, alas, he’d been forced to go, or his head would be the price of failure. And there’s been that other thing he’d been asked to do too.
“Damn magicians. Damn humans. Damn them all and everything in between.”

I awoke with a start. Looking around, I saw that it was still dark. I knew how to find them. I knew where they were.

I hope you enjoyed...

Night!
